Ashes Test 4th: Bairstow shows resistance, Australia gripping on the test

Ashes 4th Test:

(Ashes 4th Test) It looks like the rain god do not like the game of cricket yesterday it was India vs South Africa which had delayed start because of rain and today it was Australia vs England day 3.

The England had to resume their innings from their previous night score which is of 13 runs and they were trailing behind Australia’s score by 403 runs, England were able to add 9 runs to their score and they saw the back of Haseeb Hameed, who got bowled by Mitchell Starc.

Hameed’s poor form continued in this innings as well as he was able to score only 6 runs in this innings, his scores in this series reads as 25, 27, 6, 0, 0, 7, 6.

After Hameed, Zak Crawley followed, now again all the responsibility of batting came on the shoulder of English captain Joe Root and on Dawid Malan, but this time both of them failed once again England batting was struggling at 36 for 4 against Aussie bowling lineup.

once again it looked like that Australia will walkover English batting lineup but, all rounder Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow didn’t let that happen both of them showed courage against Australian bowling lineup and added 128 runs for fifth wicket, Ben Stoke completed his fifty he made 66 runs before getting LBW to Nathan Lyon.

Wicketkeeper Jos buttler falls cheaply as well, he wasn’t even able to open his account and once again England were struggling at 173 for 6, but fast bowler Mark Wood joined Jonny Bairstow.

Mark Wood and Jonny Bairstow added 72 runs for 7th wicket, Mark Wood counter attacked Aussie bowler he hitted three six and two fours in his innings of 39 runs off 41 balls.

As the partnership was growing Aussie captain Pat Cummins sent back Mark Wood back to pavilion on the score 245, now left-arm spinner Jack Leach has joined Jonny Bairstow to save the day for England.

Jonny Bairstow was star of the day for England not only he saved them from humiliation but he also made sure that England does not go for follow on, he became the first Englismen to score century in the ongoing Ashes.

By the end of the day England are 158 runs behind Australia and they have only 3 wickets left.
