Cricket Australia has pulled out of South Africa tour where they had to play three Test matches, the reason behind this was sighted as the Coronavirus situation in South Africa. Australian team announced their squad for the tour but the continent got affected by the new variant of the ongoing Coronavirus and it is said to be more contagious than the previous strain of the virus.
(Aus vs SA) The African continent got detected with 1.5 million cases and around 44,000 deaths, the interim chief of Cricket Australia said it was medically advised them not to tour the continent at this point of time. This decision also affected the World Test Championship as New Zealand has gone through the final which is going to be played on the Lords between 18 to 22nd June.
(Aus vs SA) The chances of Australia qualifying for the Final of the World Test Championship now got depended on the result of the India vs England which is starting from the 5th of Feb. If Australia wants to go into the final then England has to restrict India series win by 1-0 margin or England win the series with the margin of 1-0, 2-0, 2-1 or draw the series by 0-0, 1-1, 2-2.
If any of these happen Australia will qualify for the finals but if none of them happens then either India or England will go into the finals of the World Test Championship. This got its own scenario as for England to qualify they have to win the series with the margin of 3-0, 3-1, or by 4-0. If this happens England will qualify for the final of the World Test Championship.
For India to qualify for the final they have to win the series by the margin of 2-0, 2-1, 3-0, 3-1, or they win the series with 4-0 this will make them qualified to play the final on Lords.
