When the final day resumed the New Zealands were expecting little resistance from their middle order and from their tail but that didn’t happen as Ebadot Hossain ran riot in the New Zealand batting and claimed 6 wickets in the second innings.
In the first Innings New Zealand bundled out on 328 runs and in their first innings Bangladesh team made 458 runs, and it was up to Kiwi batters to their lead as high as they can.
But the Kiwi batting was not up to the mark and they go all out on just 169 runs in their second innings, Bangladesh achieved this small target without any hiccups and registered one of their memorable win outside Asia.
For Bangladesh, it was Ebadot Hossain who turned the game in their favor on the 4th day, Ebadot Hossain first removed Will Young who steading the innings of New Zealand with Ross Taylor.
and then he took the wickets of Henry Nicholls and Tom Blundell, both of them failed to open their score, but it did open gates for Bangladesh, and by the starting of the 5th day the things became very obvious.
This is Bangladesh’s first-ever Test win in New Zealand and they would like to repeat their performance in the next match so that they can claim the series to their name.
The second match between the two sides will begin from 9th January and the host will look to win this test so that they can equal the series, and for Bangladesh even if they manage to draw the second match they will claim their first-ever series win outside Bangladesh.
