(Boxing Day Test Centurion) When on a cloudy morning Captain Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first, everyone thought it is going to be a disastrous decision, as it had rained all night in centurion the wicket was green, with a cover of clouds overhead. It had all those things to make the decision easy for the captain to Win the Toss and Bowl first.
(Boxing Day Test Centurion) But Captain Kohli was pretty clear about his decision and India’s new opening pair didn’t let their captain’s decision be a disaster as both openers KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal put on a century stand between them and both scored their first test fifty on African soil. Although Mayank got a life when he was batting on 36 and his catch was put down by Wicketkeeper Quinton De Kock.
The opening pair starts cautiously but Agarwal took the role of attacker and on the other hand, KL Rahul was more cautious and both of them had 117 runs stand among them before Agarwal became the first victim of Lungi Ngidi. As soon as Agarwal falls Cheteshwar Pujara follows soon after without troubling the scorer and his lack of runs continued in the first innings as well.
Again it looked like Inning is going to have a collapse but the Indian skipper stand tall with opener KL Rahul and both of them added 82 runs and Indian skipper made 35 runs and as he was looking strong he tried chasing a ball off-side off stump and loses his wicket to Lungi Ngidi.
India was again looked in disarray as they were 199-3 but former vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane stood with KL Rahul and made sure that the Indian team does not lose any more wickets by the end of the day. He is now batting 40 runs off 81 balls.
But the highlight of today’s day was KL Rahul who bought his 7th ton in test matches and out of those 7 ton 6 tons came outside India.
