(Cricket Australia) Australia’s tour of Pakistan gets his final clear and the men in yellow are all set to play in Pakistan after 1998, Australia’s tour of Pakistan consists of three tests, three ODIs, and one T20i.
Cricket Australia’s chief Nick Hockley said “I would like to thank the PCB and both Pakistan and Australian Governments for ensuring the tour will proceed for the first time in 24 years”
he further added “I would also like to thank the Australian Cricketers’ Association and the players, coaches, support teams, staff and security experts for their collaboration in the planning for the tour. We are looking forward to an exciting series between two world-class teams.”
Australia’s captain Pat Cummins also ensured that most of their core players are comfortable for this tour he said “I think we’ll get close to a full-strength squad,” Cummins said. “There is still a little bit of work to do. We have received a lot of information and it has been great. All the pre-tour security and biosecurity work has been done and it’s been fantastic.”
Teams are Coming
International cricket in Pakistan came to halt when the Sri Lankan team was attacked by a terrorist group in the year 2009, after that there was no international cricket happened in Pakistan till the year 2015.
in 2015 Zimbabwe became the first international team to visit Pakistan and after that international partially resumed in Pakistan, as West Indies sent their team but it mainly consisted of their second-string players.
Sri Lankan team has also visited Pakistan in the year 2019 where they played the ODI series and T20 series, but recent tours of Pakistan were canceled by New Zealand and England Cricket Board.
Playing after 23 years
if the tour goes as it is planned then Australia will be playing Pakistan on their home ground after 23 years, the last time Aussies played on Pakistan was in the year 1998, so it will definitely give a boost to cricket in Pakistan and more teams will make their visit.
