Indian women’s cricket team has to tour England and Priya Punia has been selected in the team for this tour.
Priya Punia is a member of the Indian women's cricket team.
Priya Punia, a member of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team, recently lost her mother due to COVID-19. This all-rounder is currently with the Indian team, which will leave for the tour of England. Obviously, it would not have been easy for Priya to go with the team just a few days after losing her mother, but the father of Priya helped her in this and inspired her by giving the example of Indian men’s team captain Virat Kohli. The Indian women’s team has to play Test matches on England tour and in addition to playing ODI, T20 series.
Priya’s father Surendra told the English newspaper Times of India that he advised Priya to take inspiration from Virat Kohli’s career. Virat Kohli also lost his father at the age of 18. At that time Kohli was playing a Ranji Trophy match against Karnataka for Delhi. After the end of the day’s play, he came to know about his father’s demise. But he surprised his teammates by reaching the ground the next morning. Kohli scored 90 runs in that match and saved the team from follow-on.
Surendra said on Friday, “She (Priya’s mother) was recovering, but her oxygen level went down and she had to be put on a ventilator, but we could not save her.” I inspired Priya. I told him that Virat Kohli had gone to play Ranji Trophy after his father’s death. This is a difficult time for us, but we need to be mentally strong. There will be many occasions in life when you have to face challenges and move forward. Priya understood this and said that Papa, I am ready to play for India. ”
Information is given through Social Media
Priya had been informed about her death via social media and shared her photos on Instagram. He wrote, “Today I came to know why you always told me to stay strong. You knew that I would need the strength to bear the grief of losing you one day. I miss you very much, mother. No matter the distance, you are always with me. My guide, my mother. Love you forever Some truths in life are quite difficult. I will never miss you. May your soul rest in peace.”
