England Ashes: Head Coach tests positive of Covid 19

England Ashes:

England Ashes Tour has been horrible with their performance on the field but the team has been suffering off the field as well, in the current news their coach Chris Silverwood has been tested positive for Covid 19.

Silverwood has been in quarantine with his family and he is expected to join the English by the fifth and final Test of the ongoing Ashes series, but by the time being, he will miss the fourth Test of the series which is starting from 5th of January 2022.

Silverwood has been in isolation in Melbourne since 30th December when one of his family members tested positive for Covid-19, Chris Silverwood will remain in isolation till the 8th of January. In their statement, ECB stated that Silverwood is asymptomatic and is fully vaccinated.

Silverwood has been under a lot of criticism because of the English team’s performance in the first three test matches of the Ashes series being played in Australia, the team isn’t able to give any kind of competition to the Aussie side and things have been very easy for the hosting team.

England’s management also announced that Adam Hollioake is not going to join the coaching setup ahead of the fourth test as he had a close encounter with a Covid-19 positive person.

The things are not going the way England would have been expected from their team’s performance to their team suffering from Covid-19, the ongoing Ashes has been nothing short of a nightmare for Joe Root and Co.

As the Ashes have gone for England they would like to start their year with a victory and would like to take some consolation by winning the last two matches remaining of the series.

Joe Root and Company has lots of things to work on, especially in their batting department which has been completely spineless in the first three matches of the series.
