NZ tour of Australia:

(NZ tour of Australia) New Zealand tour of Australia which was about to start from 24th January has been postponed because of covid protocols, this was confirmed by the cricket boards of both the countries.

the decision came under the circumstances of whether New Zealand will be able to come back home because of covid-19 protocols, on this tour New Zealand was supposed to play 3 ODIs and one of T20i, the ODI series was played on the venues Perth, Hobart, and Sydney and T20i match were supposed to be played in Canberra.

NZC Chief Executive David White said “As we now know, the advent of Omicron prompted a change of heart from the NZ government, resulting in a hard 10-day mandatory isolation period being imposed on all incoming travelers”

NZC and CA had explored a proposal to expand the tour and to push out the date on which the squad might return to New Zealand in the hope that might be more achievable for the government. Unfortunately, we received advice this morning that they could not provide certainty over this.” NZC and CA said discussions were continuing over when the postponed fixtures will be played.

now the Australian cricket fans need to wait for a while to see their team back in action as the Sri Lankan team is going to tour Australia in February, where both the team will play 5 T20i starting from the 11th of February.

with the cancellation of the New Zealand tour, the fans are demanding cricket Australia host the matches between Australia and Australia A which they used to earlier.

as a cricket fan, it is very sad to see the series getting postponed because of Covid-19 because sports is the only thing which is keeping the sanity of the people quarantined into their homes.
