SA vs IND Day 1:

The third and final test of the Mandela-Gandhi trophy, began today and the Indian team is on backfoot (SA vs India Day 1) on the very first day of the test match, India’s skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bat first.

The decision didn’t go in the way Virat Kohli would have liked, because there was no Indian batter apart from Kohli who was able to stand up against the African bowlers.

Indian opener was able to score only 31 runs for the first wicket, and KL Rahul was back in the pavilion Mayank Agarwal followed him soon after, now it was up to Kohli and Pujara to steady the sinking ship of India’s batting.

Both of them added 62 runs and Pujara was looking in the form but he wasn’t able to carry on and got out to Marco Jensen in his innings Pujara made a good-looking 44.

Ajinkya Rahane’s poor continued in this innings as well and he made only 9 runs, now Kohli and Pant were on the crease and till tea, they made sure that South Africa gets no success.

For the 5th wicket, Pant and Kohli added 51 runs but Pant wasn’t able to provide enough support to his captain and got to Marco Jensen, he made 27 runs.

Once Rishabh Pant was back (SA vs India Day 1) in the pavilion the South Africa bowlers didn’t take much time in removing the Indian tail, Ravi Ashwin and Shardul Thakur didn’t able to provide enough resistance, despite having their captain on the other end.

Virat Kohli was India’s only man standing and he made 79 runs before he got out to Kagiso Rabada, and the wait for his 71st century stretches to one more innings.

By the end of the day, South Africa’s innings started and they have lost their captain, Dean Elgar, South Africa has made 17 runs in 8 overs with Aiden Markram and nightwatchman Keshav Maharaj on the crease.
