Series Win :

On 19 December 2020 who would have thought that the team who just scored the lowest ever total of test cricket in the last 70 years will go under the skin of the Aussies and going to achieve what is known as the Fort of Australia. On the last day of the test match, India requires 324 runs and Australia has to take on 9 wickets to get the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and to keep their fort intact. But the young guns of India were in no mood to go down without the fight.

(Series Win) Australia was right on the track when they removed Rohit Sharma very cheaply, but what hit them after that will remain in their memories forever the duo of experienced Pujara and the rising young gun Shubhman Gill belted out the Aussies bowling attack one by his defence and one by his stroke play. Australia tried bowling short and into the body but this too didn’t worked out very well for them. In over of Mitchell Starc both Gill and Pujara scored 20 runs and that begin the run chase of India.

(Series Win) Gill was looking solid and moving forward towards his first test century but he fell to the Nathan Lyon and Steve Smith took a good catch to remove him. The Indian captain came out with the intent of scoring and he took charge against the bowling but he was only able to score 24 runs off 22 balls. After the wicket of Rahane Indian management sent Rishbah Pant instead of Mayank Agarwal and it went pretty great as Pant and Pujara did a partnership of 61 runs before Pujara falls to Cummins.

(Series Win) And once Pujara was back in the Pavilion India were required 100 runs and 6 wickets left only. But after the dismissal of Pujara, Pant took the responsibility on his shoulders and occupied the crease. In this innings Pant should the composure and aggression and resisted himself from playing any kind of rash shot which would have given Australia a momentum to get back in the game.

(Series Win) After the wicket of Mayank Agarwal came in the debutant Washington Sundar who already played a gem of an innings in the first innings but this time the pressure was different and the situation was different. When Sundar came out to bat India required another 63 runs to make an unbelieveable win he and Pant made sure that Aussies does not get back into the game and both did the partnership of 53 runs and killed the chances of Australia coming back into the game.

Pant scored the Winning Run for the India and India won the series by the margin of 2-1 and become the first team to beat the Australia in Gabba in last 32 years. Pant was adjourned Man of the Match while Australian Fast bowler Pat Cummins Was Adjourned as Man of the Series as he took 21 wickets in the series.
