South Africa Win: Dean Elgar played captain’s knock SA levels the series

South Africa Win:

(South Africa Win) Well, when the fourth day of the Wanderer test started it was pouring down and both teams were eager to be on the ground to have a result of the second test.

As both teams had something to play for, India was looking to claim their first-ever series win on South African soil, and South Africa was keen to keep the series alive after losing the first test.

the day didn’t start as the teams wanted as it took six hours for the game to get started on the fourth day, South Africa required 122 more runs and India needed 8 wickets to win the game and the series.

overnight batters Dean Elgar and Rassie Van Der Dussen started positively against the Indian seamers, who were trying to exploit the good length area of the pitch which had venomous bounce.

Rassie was taking the Indian bowlers on, and he added match-defining 82 runs with his captain Dean Elgar, as it looked it both of them will take the African team home without any further damage Shami got the wicket of Van der Dussen on the score of 175 runs, he made 40 runs off 92 balls.

With the wicket of Van der Dussen, the Indian team felt like the floodgates will open but that did not happen as Temba Bavuma and Dean Elgar made sure that no wickets fall to give the Indian team any chance whatsoever.

The credit of this win needs to go to the African captain Dean Elgar who took bodily blows of Indian bowlers and made beautiful 96 runs to keep his team in the contest and keep the series alive.

With his crucial knock of 96 runs South Africa was able to defeat Indian by 7 seven wickets, this is India’s first-ever test match lose at Wanderers. The third and the last match of the series will begin on 11th January 2022.
