Virat Kohli will leave the captaincy of T20 after T20 World Cup

Virat Kohli has announced on social media that he will leave the captaincy of Team India in the shortest format i.e. T20 after the T20 World Cup.

Virat Kohli has announced to step down as the T20 captain of Team India after the upcoming T20 World Cup. “I have decided to step down as T20 captain after this T20 World Cup in Dubai in October,” Kohli wrote in a post shared on his social media handle. Virat Kohli on Thursday announced on social media that he will step down as the captain of the Indian cricket team in T20Is after the completion of the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup. The ICC T20 World Cup is scheduled to be held in UAE and Oman from October 17. He will continue to lead the team in Test cricket and ODIs.

Kohli wrote in a post tweeted from his Twitter handle that he will cease the T20 captaincy after the T20 World Cup going to be held in Dubai in October.

 Virat Kohli took over as the captain of the Indian cricket team in T20, the shortest format of cricket, in 2017 after MS Dhoni stepped down from his post. This will be the first time that Kohli will lead India in the ICC T20 World Cup. He had previously led the team to the final of the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017 and the semi-finals of the 2019 ICC World Cup.Image
