The First Day of the Wanderers Test has gone into the names of South African bowlers, who bundled out the Indian batting lineup on just 202 runs with little over two sessions.
(Wanderers Test) Earlier today bad news came from the Indian team that their red call captain Virat Kohli isn’t going to play the second test as he is suffering from a back spasm, and in his absence, KL Rahul was given the opportunity to lead the team.
And KL Rahul won the toss and elected to bat first, the start was cautious from both the Indian openers but Mayank Agarwal took the charge in early of the innings and he made of the runs for the 36 runs partnership for the first wicket.
After his wicket, the Indian team required his wall to stand against the South African bowlers but the recent form of Cheteshwar Pujara isn’t favoring the Indian and he went back to the pavilion after scoring only three runs.
Ajinkya Rahane failed to deliver once and he scored a first-ball duck which added more misery to the Indian team, Vihari tried to show some resistance but he was able to score only 20 runs.
Apart from KL Rahul and Ravi Ashwin, no Indian batter had the answer to the South African bowling line up and both of them scored 50 and 46 runs respectively which helped the Indian team to have a total of 202 runs.
by the end of the day South Africa has scored 35 runs with a loss of one wicket, Aidem Markram became the victim of fast bowler Mohammad Shami’s third time in the series.
Captain Dean Elgar and Keegar Peterson are holding the key to South African batting, Keegar Peterson will look forward to score big runs after his catch was dropped by wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant.
