These included Wriddhiman Saha of Sunrisers Hyderabad, Amit Mishra of Delhi Capitals, Varun Chakraborty of Kolkata Knight Riders, and Sandeep Warrier. Apart from these, Chennai Super Kings batting coach Mike Hussey and bowling coach Laxmipathi also came under the grip of Corona. Later, the results of KKR’s Prasidh Krishna and Tim Seifert also came positive. But by then the tournament was suspended.

Yuzvendra Chahal said in a conversation with Sports Tak that his parents were found to be Corona positive. After this, he could not concentrate on the game. He said, ‘When I came to know that my parents have corona positive, I was thinking of taking a break from the IPL. When parents were alone at home, it was difficult to concentrate on the game. They came positive on 3 May and the tournament was suspended after two days. Chahal’s mother later recovered from Corona, but her father’s health deteriorated. In such a situation, he was admitted to the hospital in Gurugram.

Chahal’s father still not fully recovered

30-year-old Yuzvendra Chahal further said, ‘My father’s oxygen level had fallen to 85-86 and we had to take him to the hospital. He came back home yesterday (21 May). But their result is still positive. However, the good thing is that his oxygen level is now near 95-96, which is a great relief for us. It will take 7 to 10 days for them to recover completely. ‘
